Macaroni Made ~ Apple-Print Butterflies

By Melinda Lodge Willis, Macaroni Kid Salem, NJ August 29, 2012
This craft is great to do with toddlers or other little ones! My 2-year-old was able to help me paint the apples to make each butterfly, and of course make her own version of the butterflies as well...they didn’t look much like butterflies…but she had a great time.

Directions:
  • Cut an apple in half.
  • Paint the inside/cut side of the apple with colors of your choice, or simply pour out the paint on a paper plate and place the cut side of the apple directly in the paint. Either way, make sure the paint is completely covering the entire flat surface of the apple so that you can make a nice, clear butterfly stamp.
  • Draw antennas and anything else that you’d like, and make your butterfly take flight!
