Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue

Join in the fun at their 7th Annual 5k!

September 11, 2014
I am a big fan of the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue. Almost two years ago we adopted our dog, Lola, from RMLR. There's just something about a rescue dog... Sure, they come with baggage, but once they settle in and really trust that you are theirs forever I swear they love you that much more. Our girl didn't know how to swim or even play fetch when we first got her, but now she's your typical, happy lab.

RMLR has no shelter; they rely ONLY on foster homes. Fostering a dog is a great way to help, as there are more dogs out there than RMLR can save. CLICK HERE for information on fostering. While you're there, check out the adoptable dogs and puppies who are looking for their forever homes. Note that you will need to complete an extensive application and interview before adopting from RMLR.

Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue was started in 2007 and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization for the rescue and rehabilitation of Labrador Retrievers. Their mission is to place their dogs in new loving homes for the remainder of their lives. RMLR labs come from in-state and out-of-state shelters, puppy mills that have been shut down, out-of-state rescues who have no room, and owner surrenders. All of their dogs go into a foster home for evaluation before being put up for adoption into a new home rather than a shelter.

The 7th Annual Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue family-/dog-friendly 5K event is set to take place on Saturday, Sept. 20th!

Open to participants of all ages and well-behaved dogs of all breeds, this relaxed 5K course can be enjoyed at your personal best time (this is a timed event), or at your own leisurely pace. Participants receive a high quality tech running t-shirt, goody bag, raffle ticket and refreshments! You can also come and meet some of the RMLR pups that are currently available for adoption.
