Macaroni Review ~ Lite-Brite

November 23, 2014

Remember Lite-Brite from when you were a kid? Well it’s back with a new, updated look, shaped pegs, a blinking feature, and reusable templates. (Yes! I used to hate it when my black paper templates got all trashed from being stabbed over and over by the pegs.) I also seem to remember having to plug in the Lite-Brite I had when I was a kid; now it’s battery-operated.

Lite-Brite is great for all ages. At the Macaroni Kid Toy Time party, kiddos of all ages had fun creating glowing designs. I was expecting this to be a hit just with the younger set, but I saw some of the tween-age boys having fun making free-form Lite-Brite designs. This is a good one that your child can play with independently, which is a nice alternative to television if you need a little bit of time to make dinner, fold laundry, etc.

Parents will want to know:

  • Lite-Brite inspires creativity and helps children develop fine-motor skills.
  • A detachable storage container holds the 200 colored pegs.
  • 3 AA batteries are required, and not included. You will need a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
