Kids Ski Free at Vail Resorts for 2015-2016 Season

May 22, 2015
An experience of a lifetime in the Rocky Mountains is more accessible than ever before for Colorado kids! Last week, Vail Resorts launched a new program offering FREE skiing and riding for the 2015-2016 winter ski season.

The Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack, formerly known as School of Shred, now includes all children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Children enrolled in the program will receive four complimentary days of skiing and riding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone, for the 2015-2016 winter season — that's 16 free days per student! Additionally, participants can receive one complimentary full-day first-timer lesson (including equipment rental) during Learn to Ski & Ride Month in January 2016 (outside of holiday periods).

"Fostering a love for skiing and snowboarding in kids is a top priority for Vail Resorts," said Kirsten Lynch, chief marketing officer of Vail Resorts. "We're excited to extend such an unprecedented opportunity to families, and to share the mountains in which we work, live, and play with so many children who have not before had the opportunity to experience them in the winter."

How Can We Enroll in the Program?
  • Parents should bring their kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade for the 2015-2016 school year to a participating Front Range Colorado Ski & Golf or Boulder Ski Deals location by Memorial Day 2015.
  • Kids entering 6th Grade who are currently enrolled in the 2014-2015 School of Shred are also eligible to register through the same registration process.
  • Epic SchoolKids must have a physical copy of their report card, school ID, or birth certificate (copy will be retained).
  • A printed photo for the pass is also required (photo will be retained).
  • Parent or guardian will be asked to sign a release.
  • The Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack will be mailed in 4-6 weeks
OK, What's the Catch?
Really, there's no catch! There are certain restrictions, however. The Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack is restricted during the following holiday periods in 2015/2016: November 27-28, December 26-31, January 16, and February 15-17. The free lesson is only available to first-timers during January 2016, and is not available January 1-4 or January 15-17. This is one lesson at a single resort, not a free lesson at each resort.

Wait, There's More!
In addition to free skiing/boarding, the Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack provides UNLIMITED Summer 2015 scenic chair lift rides at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone.
