π Progress Update: Small Wins That Feel Big!
All of our hard work is finally starting to fall into place—and we’re feeling it in the best ways! π
I’m noticing my tongue resting at the roof of my mouth more often (huge progress!), and my son is breathing a little better at night, which was one of our biggest goals.
But first, if you haven't read our full journey, click here to get caught up!
πͺ Encouragement When We Needed It Most
We’ve been doing daily tongue exercises for months, and honestly, it started to wear on both of us—especially my son. He was getting discouraged and wondering if it was all worth it.
But then came our last visit with Brittany at Joyful Breathing—and what a boost it was! She noticed big improvements in both of us, and her excitement was contagious.
She had challenged my son to stretch a little deeper during one of his exercises, and he rose to the occasion. Seeing her celebrate his progress helped him feel re-energized, and it reminded both of us just how far we’ve come.
πβοΈ My Own Milestone Moment
When I started this journey, I really struggled to get my tongue to the roof of my mouth—let alone hold it there. Now? I’ve got a super strong “tongue cave” πͺ that I can hold comfortably for longer stretches. I’m catching my tongue resting up there throughout the day without even thinking about it!
That may sound like a small thing, but it’s a big deal when it comes to long-term breathing and oral health.
π° What’s Next: Swallowing With Water
Our next challenge? Mastering a new swallowing technique—with water! π¦
This one felt almost impossible at first, but it’s getting easier every day. We’re building strength, coordination, and awareness with every sip.
π« Our Hard Work Is Paying Off
These little wins are exactly what we needed to stay motivated. My son is feeling hopeful again, I’m noticing real changes in how I feel, and we’re excited for what’s next in our journey with Brittany.
