Mid-Air Adventures ~ Friend of Macaroni

Great for birthday parties or anytime!

March 7, 2012

As some of you know, Mid-Air Adventures invited us to celebrate my son's 6th birthday at their facility in Thornton. It was such a treat! I am always looking for active parties that will tire out the kids, and Mid-Air Adventures did not disappoint!

We opted for the "Up in the Air" package, which gave us 1.5 hours of play (more on that later), and 1/2 hour in a private party room with a party host, place settings, pizza, and drinks. Each party room has lockers to store the presents in while you go play. As soon as we arrived, we were escorted to our room to wait for the guests. When most had arrived, the kids watched a safety video and got outfitted with their harnesses, and then it was time for fun!

The main attraction at Mid-Air Adventures are the zip lines that launch from 7-, 9-, and 11-foot-high platforms. Anyone riding the zip line is buckled in via their harness for safety. For the younger set, like my fearless 3-year-old, there is the option to ride 2-at-a-time; he and my husband had a blast flying along together. There is also a supervised 20-foot climbing wall with multiple routes, as well as a toddler area, rope bridges, and slides.

My son and his birthday guests had So. Much. Fun. They rode the zip lines countless times; chased each other up the rope ladders, across the bridges, and down the slides; climbed the rock wall; and even did some time in the toddler area, despite the fact that little brother was the only toddler among them. Goal #1 (tire 'em out) was achieved, and then some! Actually, when I booked the party I thought I was getting an hour of playtime and 1/2 hour for partying…which I thought was a great deal compared to some other birthday party hotspots. One of the moms noticed the sign on our party room had us in there a half hour later than I expected, and that's when I found out that we had a FULL hour and a half to play! This was seriously a great deal for the money, and more than enough play time.

Once in the party room, the hostesses did a great job serving the kids and cleaning up after us. She helped us to the car with all the birthday presents, which was a nice touch.

Okay, the service and the activities were great, but what about the facility? I can honestly tell you that it was clean and very well-kept, so no complaints in that department. I would definitely recommend Mid-Air Adventures for an active, non-rushed birthday party.

Mid-Air Adventures also offers a Family Fun Nite on Fridays when the parents can harness for free between 4-8 p.m. with a paid 1.5 hour admission.
