KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities is an ingenious blend of unusual curiosity acts and stunning acrobatic prowess from Cirque du Soleil. Let KURIOS show you that anything is possible through the power of imagination.

I’ve seen several of Cirque du Soleil’s shows, and I can honestly say that KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities is my favorite! Each of the 12 acts was mesmerizing; I was not bored for a second. I laughed, gasped, oohed and ahhhed. The live music and especially the vocals, always a favorite part of the show for me, gave me chills and drew me into the whole experience.

It’s tough to choose a favorite act. If I had to pick just one, I think it would be Acro Net, because it had it all - amazing acrobatic feats, fabulous costumes, and humor. I could actually say that about most of the acts, but Acro Net was especially fun to watch.

I highly recommend seeing KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities before it leaves town! I would even go back a second time... I'm sure there was plenty that I missed.

A few tips for your visit:

  1. Arrive early and enjoy the Big Top vibe before the show starts.
  2. Bring an umbrella! The bathrooms are outside. (We live in Colorado, which is now rainy I guess?)
  3. Bring a sweater or jacket. It was cold inside. My theory is that they need to keep it cool for the performers, who work up a sweat.
  4. Younger children will probably do better at a matinee. In the dreamlike atmosphere, my 7-year-old son faded pretty quickly.

10 CURIOUS FACTS ABOUT THE SHOW

  • To make the Accordion Man’s attire, the costume-maker spent an entire week sewing inside the costume.
  • Antanina Satsura, the artist who plays Mini Lili in Kurios, is 3.2 feet tall and weighs 39 pounds. She is one of the 10 smallest people in the world.
  • The mechanical hand in Kurios weighs 750 pounds and measures 15 feet by 6.8 feet.
  • More than a hundred costumes were created to dress the cast of Kurios.
  • There are 426 props used in Kurios, the most of any show in Cirque du Soleil’s history.
  • Close to 65 trucks transport close to 2,000 tons of equipment for KURIOS™.
  • The 109 Tour Members range from brand new to over 20 years on tour with Cirque and are from 21 countries.
  • It is also the first time that Cirque du Soleil presents a welcoming act on top of the big top before the show starts. When the weather is allowing, 3 artists climb the big top and welcome the guests on site. As they are playing music and acting, the audience is arriving on site and is being introduced to the KURIOS experience.
  • It took the team of prop makers approximately 250 hours to build the Micro-Cosmos ball.
  • All performers are responsible for doing their own make-up every show. It can take them between 40 – 120 minutes.
