You already know that our seven-year-old daughter loves going Universal Taekwondo, so I wanted to give you a new perspective and share the accomplishments of the students in the red/black belt classes. These students have put in a lot of hard work and are really fun to watch. I have a fun video for you so you can see what I saw that night, but here are a couple of my observations:
- These children, young adults, and adults are confident, disciplined and strong
- Teamwork is an essential element of this class. Students work together to refine their craft and to succeed.
- I was surprised that there were more girls than boys in the class I attended, but not really surprised, Taekwondo is a wonderful tool to have in any young woman's toolbox
- Students respect each other and their teachers. And it doesn't matter what age they are, the higher belts are respected because of the knowledge they have to share with the lower belts
Getting the opportunity to watch these advanced students was a great opportunity for me to see what the future holds as my daughter progresses at Universal Taekwondo. I can't wait to see her continue to reach the small milestones along the way, and the smile on her face as she accomplishes the big milestones. I know it's going to be a wonderful journey of learning and discovery!
