๐Ÿ•๏ธ River Run RV Resort in Granby Offers Glamping at it's Finest!

September 10, 2019

We’re usually rustic campers, but after glamping at River Run RV Resort, I think we’ll start mixing it up and make this an annual tradition!

Our weekend at River Run RV Resort was filled with relaxing by the pool, enjoying drinks on the patio while the kids played on the playground and jump pad, playing in the arcade, and enjoying free games of bowling!

We do really love to camp in the wilderness, it’s nice and quiet and you’re forced to abandon electronics because there’s no service. But there is the burden of trying to keep your kids busy. Ours play well together, but when a blow up happens, we have to intervene and redirect.

When you’re at a place like River Run RV Resort, the kids are entertained the entire time. I had the luxury of sitting with my book while enjoying watching my children run around entertaining themselves. We were all happy with that arrangement!

As soon as they were up they grabbed their bikes to ride with the other kids. Then we headed to the pool where they splashed and played for a couple hours. In the afternoon they’d play on the playground or jump pad while we hung out on the beautiful patio. They would also come up to the patio to play lawn games too. One afternoon it rained, and we enjoyed time in the arcade and bowling alley. At the end of the day they were completely exhausted, and practically asking to be put to bed!

Why River Run RV Resort?

Lots of Glamping Options

I have to mention that the name is a little deceiving. Yes they have RV spots, which are huge, but next year they will also have tent sites, Conestoga wagon rentals, adventure tents, airstream rentals and yurts! Plus, they have three types of vacation cabin rentals. These are the finest glamping options that any one can offer!

Tons of Amenities

Once you’ve picked your accommodation type, you get full access to the amenities on site, which includes:

  • Yoga lawn
  • Lake Dock with SUP and Kayak Rentals
  • Heated Pool
  • Off-Leash Dog Park (with a swimming area!)
  • Three Hot Tubs
  • Playground (for older and younger kids)
  • Jump Pad
  • Sport Court Complex
  • Bocce Ball Court and Outdoor Games
  • Arcade
  • Free bowling
  • Stocked General Store
  • Free WIFI
  • Headwaters Tavern
  • Summit Bar & Grill

Tip: We enjoyed two meals at the Summit Bar & Grill, and the 16” pizza is a feast for a family of four, and it’s delicious. Definitely take a night off cooking and enjoy a pizza on the patio!

Themed Weekends

Most weekends have a theme and the staff provides endless entertainment for your family. Our visit was Through the Decades Weekend. Fun activities offered included 90’s Name That Tune, Movie Night: Back to the Future, Rock Painting, 70’s jewelry making, Tie-dying t-shirts, bingo and a costume contest!

Do you see what I mean about not having to be the one responsible for keeping your kids busy? They’ve got that under control!

Nearby Adventures

River Run RV Resort has gorgeous views, which is why I didn’t feel too bad staying at the resort and not exploring. But if you need to explore a little, Lake Granby and Grand Lake are just 10 minutes down the road. One day we rented a pontoon boat for three hours and went fishing and exploring on Lake Granby. (And it was pretty affordable at $135 for the three hours.)

Resort Completion

The resort just opened in August of 2019, and they’re still putting the finishing touches together. So if you plan to go now, be prepared for bare landscaping and some construction around the grounds. Not all of the glamping options are available yet, just the RV sites. Many of the cabins are available though, and all the amenities I mentioned us visiting are open.

We loved our visit even without the finishing touches complete, but I can’t wait to go back and see it next summer when everything is complete. You can tell from the finishes in the buildings and all the amazing amenities, that this resort is going to be STUNNING.

Grand Opening Specials

Check out their Facebook page to stay up to date with any current specials. Recently they were offering buy two nights get one free, which is a great deal!

If you want to head up this fall during their opening season, RV Site pricing starts at $68 for full hookups. Vacation rentals start at $175 a night for a studio (and go up to $195 for a two bedroom cabin.) Both lodging options include full access to the amenities!

Make 2020 Plans!

If you’re planning a family reunion or a large gathering, River Run RV Resort would be an amazing place to do that. The kids would be entertained non-stop, and the adults would have the opportunity to relax and connect. Plus you’ll have super comfy accommodations whether you stay in an rv site, cabins or one of the glamping options.

You can book online here or give them a call at 1-888-303-7027.

In exchange for sharing my opinion, I was given free camping onsite. All the opinions are my own!
