A community tradition like no other, Frederick's Chainsaws and Chuck Wagons festival brings together the most masterful chainsaw carvers for an epic showdown of turning giant logs into beautiful works of art.
The 2024 carving competition will take place July 17-20 at Centennial Park (630 Eight Street, Frederick) with family-friendly fun and delicious food. Vote for your favorite creation to see who will be crowned this year's top carver.
New for 2024 - Frederick Kids Carving Competition
Young artists have the opportunity to unleash their imagination and showcase their talent through the Frederick Kids Carving Competition during Chainsaws & Chuckwagons! Just like our renowned chainsaw carvers, young artists will have 4 days to create a masterpiece clay carving/sculpture. Participants will be provided with raw clay, tools, and necessary supplies to sculpt, shape, and refine their creation into masterpieces that capture the essence of their imagination. This competition is open to a total of ten youth between the ages of 8 and 13. Review the rules and submit an application to participate.

Wednesday, July 17
- 10 am - Event Kickoff with Carving All Day
- Carvers will meet to pick their logs and settle in to start carving! Carvers will bring art to sell at their booths located near the carving area.
Thursday, July 18
- ALL DAY - Carvers working on their masterpiece carving.
- 4 - 8 pm - Chuckwagons - Food Trucks including:
- Cheese Love Grill
- Edge Gourmet Street Kitchen
- Little Kusina Truck
- Sno Ball Shack
- Steamy Weiners
- 4 - 7 pm - Live Music on the Big Stage:
- Steve Weeks - a Colorado singer-songwriter with heartfelt and whimsical acoustic songs.
- 6 - 7 pm - Quick Carve
- 7 pm - Auctioneer with Quick Carve Auction (bring cash or credit card)
Friday, July 19
- ALL DAY - Carvers working on their masterpiece carving.
- 4 - 8 pm: Chuckwagons - Food Trucks including:
