I am a huge fan of axe throwing, it's one of my favorite activities to do with friends! We've never found anywhere we could go as a family, so I was thrilled to find The Bad Hatchet in Westminster!!
They not only allow families to throw axes together, but they're offering a youth camp in April for kids to learn to throw like a pro and get a better understanding of axe throwing.
Did you know axe throwing has actually become a competitive sport? It's a quickly growing sport of skill, not of athleticism or strength.
But is it safe? Yes! The Bad Hatchet has a set of rules for axe throwing that they're serious about. If you follow the rules, you're good! No different than throwing darts or bowling, both which could cause some damage if you're messing around. (Personal Experience: I was terrified the first time I went to throw axes, but now I've participated several times and know that I'm in a safe environment!)

Youth Camp Details
The Bad Hatchet is enthusiastic about kids learning about axe throwing. They want them to learn about the sport and proper technique, but they also want them to learn equipment maintenance and the history of the sport. They'll sneak in a little history lesson for the kids too!
Who: Ages 8 - 16
When: April 9, 16, 23 (Saturdays), 10:00am - 12:00pm
Cost: $79/person, add'l 10% off for siblings (includes all equipment + 20% off in April for the whole family!)
Bonus Fun: Camp will conclude with a tournament on the last day
Kids will also receive a book written by a professional knife and axe throwing expert.

🪓 About The Bad Hatchet
The Bad Hatchet is the first dedicated Axe Throwing venue in the northwest metro area and a veteran-owned business. Located in Westminster, Colorado right off US HWY 36 and Sheridan Blvd, a few blocks from the new Downtown Westminster development.
The Bad Hatchet will soon be a bar once they secure their liquor license, but they're an axe-throwing venue first! They currently serve soda, tea, coffee, and other non-alcoholic drinks. Patrons are welcome to have their favorite food delivered, or bring it in with them to enjoy!
