10 Anythink Library Events to Add to Your Calendar in August 2022

Anythink Libraries sure knows how to have a good time! From storytimes to cooking classes, hands-on projects to live entertainment, their event calendar is loaded with opportunities for visitors of all ages. Take a peek at all the fun to be had this August and be sure to register ahead to book your spot at these popular kid-friendly events.

Spanish Focus Hour of Creativity, Stories, and Music | Perl Mack
Fridays, August 5, 19, and 26, 10:30 - 11:30 am ~ Ages 2-6 ~ No Advanced Registration Required

Enjoy an hour of stories, songs, crafts, and fun activities in Spanish.


Cottagecore Book Club | Wright Farms
Monday, August 8, 1-2 pm ~ Tweens and Teens ~ No Advanced Registration Required

Books and tea in the summer breeze. Gather in the library’s backyard to chat about YA fairy tales and books over tea. This month’s book will be “Mooncakes" by Suzanne Walker.


Cooking for Kids with Sticky Fingers Cooking | Huron Street
Monday, August 8, 4-5pm ~ Ages 3-8 ~ Registration Required
Wednesday, August 10, 10-11am ~ Ages 3-8 ~ Registration Required

Join us for a fun cooking program with Sticky Fingers Cooking. Follow a recipe inspired by the book, “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, and make mischievous red pepper goulash, wild rumpus buttered noodles, and green monster milkshakes.


3D Design 101 | The Studio
Tuesday, August 9, 4:30-6pm ~ Ages 12+ ~ Registration Required

Learn the basics of Tinkercad, an online 3D software, and design a basic box with a lid. Beginners are welcome.


Back to School Bling | Brighton
Monday, August 15, 2-3pm ~ Ages 7-12 ~ No Advanced Registration Required

Join us for a drop-in program to create a new accessory to bling out your backpack for the new school year.

Watch as your little one discovers scientific concepts like observing, making predictions, and measuring. Please wear clothing and shoes that can get messy. Supplies are limited.


Custom Name Puzzle | The Studio
Saturday, August 27, 10am -12pm ~ All ages ~ Registration Required

Create a custom name puzzle using the Glowforge. We’ll cut out the name pieces and paint them with acrylic. Beginners are welcome.


3D Printing and Design | Perl Mack
Wednesday, August 31, 4-5 pm ~ Ages 12-17 ~ Registration Required

3D Printing is awesome! In this exciting STEM program, explore options for picking a premade 3D design for printing. Then learn the basics of creating your own 3D print design. Finished designs will be available for pick up in September at Anythink Perl Mack.
