Hello Macaronians!
What a beautiful summer weather week! I hope you got out to check out the splash pads, pools, and water parks to enjoy our respite from the storms!
We successfully picked the kids up from Summer Camp at Keystone Science Camp on Saturday. They had an amazing week and we were so excited to see them. They spent Saturday decompressing, then Sunday we threw them back into life! I hosted my Supper Club here for our annual family bbq, and we haven't had everyone together since before the pandemic. The theme was Hawaiian and we had some really fun foods, and so much pineapple!
My daughter has been participating in Brighton's Young Entrepreneur program this week, and she's really been enjoying it. They're going through the process of designing and creating a product to sell at the Brighton BBQ July 20th. Today I think they're going through income and expenses, which should be a fun exercise!
We're also getting into the busy season for 4H. Last night the kids did their animal record book interviews where they sit down with an adult, tell them all about their project, and then go through their record book together to make sure they were up to date and correct. It's a great opportunity for the kids to practice their presentation skills and talking about their projects. Now the next step is just getting the animals ready to show, which should be a fun goal to tackle over the next few weeks!
Are you traveling for the 4th? We thought about camping, but it's so busy over the holiday weekends that we decided to stay home and have a few quiet days. Hopefully, we'll get a family hike in, and we talked about taking the kids to golf at one of the local par 3s. (Highland Hills has a super cheap one, kids are free M-Th and I think it's only $7 for adults!)
That's it for me this week, I hope you have a great holiday weekend!
Peace, love, and macaroni,
Susan
