Hello Macaronians!
I hope you didn't get too wet trying to see fireworks on Tuesday, and that everyone was safe when that massive storm rolled through. It's been quite a blustery spring and summer! We went to the Adams County Fireworks on the 3rd, and were worried that huge storm would cause problems. But it passed and we had a fantastic show!
What have we been up to this week?
We went to the Children's Museum last weekend with some friends from out of town. I knew the Adventure Forest would be a great place for the older kids to roam and play while the adults caught up, and everyone had a fantastic time! My kids are getting older, but we had to drag them out of the museum, I guess I need to get them back there more often! The backyard is my favorite area because as they got older I could just plop myself down on the top of the hill and be able to see what they were up to. Bonus with the Adventure Forest now that there's only one exit and entrance, which is so much less stressful! (Plus those amazing hanging chairs in the shade are the best place for a few moments to yourself!) We also stopped into Blue Moon in RiNo for a delicious lunch!
On the 4th we skipped the Greeley Parade, which has been an annual tradition for our family. For some reason this year it felt like a lot of work to get it all gathered up and drive ourselves up there (but I seriously recommend it, it's always really fun, and we usually visit Weldworks too - yummy beer and food!), so we did something new and went to play golf! The kids have been taking lessons for a long time, but they haven't spent much time on the course. I grew up golfing and haven't been out much since I had kids, it's not the cheapest activity for a family of four. So I did some research on local par 3 courses and found out that kids golf free Monday thru Thursday at the Hyland Hills Par 3 courses! We collected our gear and headed out to golf as a family, and it wasn't awful. There was some whining when they realized I was making them walk (I compromised and got them push carts) but overall they had a great round. It's definitely something we'll be doing again throughout the summer, it sure was nice to be back on a golf course!
We're so excited to attend opening night of Cirque du Soleil Kooza tonight! Stay tuned to my social media for some sneak peak images, I'm sure it's going to be amazing.
Those are the highlights from me this week, I hope you had time to make some great memories with your kids this week! Don't forget to check out our summer guides for lots of ideas to keep busy this summer, there's so much to do right now!
Peace, love, and macaroni,
Susan
