Hello Macaronians!
I can't believe it's August, although I have to say I'm ready for a little taste of fall weather after all this heat! We are knee deep in 4H Adams County Fair Activities and I'm glad the heat is going to relent a bit for a few days!
We camped up on Turquoise Lake last weekend and it was amazing! There are several lake front sites in the campgrounds there, so we were able to take our kayaks and leave them down by the lake, which is always so convenient. It also made for beautiful morning walks and watching sunsets over the lake.
On Monday I finally got to see the Barbie movie with my daughter and her friend. I didn't know much about it before going, other than what I had seen on social media, and I loved what they did with it! So many great themes and easter eggs, I definitely want to watch it again when I can rent it at home.
On Tuesday night we went back to Bounce Empire for another media event to preview their menu items. I know this is a controversial topic, there were a lot of missteps after they opened. But I've been following all the changes they've made and I think they're headed in the right direction. It's definitely going to be a better fit for families with older kids who can roam the bounce houses by themselves. Then parents can hang out in the bar without having to pay to jump (and you can see the entire facility from the "fish bowl" area upstairs). My husband came with me this time and we got to spend some quality time in the bar while watching the kids wear themselves out. I can definitely see us doing a date night there, where we order food and drinks, and the kids bounce their little hearts out! I'll post more to my social media soon, but I'm happy to answer any questions that you might have!
Now we're spending all of our time over at the Adams County Fairgrounds! We watched the sheep show on Wednesday to support our other club members, and my kids are looking forward to competing in the goat show on Thursday and the rabbit show on Friday. The goats are living at the fairgrounds with the other animals until Sunday, so stop by and say hi to Stripey, you might run into us over there too!
To make life even more eventful, the kids are heading to overnight camp again next week. So on top of preparing everything for fair, we're also packing camping gear and getting ready to be up in the mountains. My head might explode, but I'm looking forward to the slower pace once we get all of that work done.
I hope you have a great week with your kids! Come down and see us at the Adams County Fairgrounds this week. The animal barns are fun to walk through, and on Friday the unlimited wristbands are $20, so it's a great day to come down and have some fun!
I'll see you in your inboxes next week!
Peace, love, and macaroni,
Susan
