Hello Macaronians!
It's that time of year when the weather is starting to tease us a little bit with cooler temps! And sadly brings the closures of pools and splash pads, which is always such a bummer on those super warm fall days. There are a few watering holes around town that don't ever close, so check those out in our Lakes & Reservoirs Guide and also the Local Outdoor Water Play Areas.
What were we up to this week?
Phew, this week was all the things - crazy, fun, exhausting, and full of adventures! My parents have been here all week, and we've just brought them along on our crazy, wonderful life, lol.
My daughter auditioned for the Elf, Jr. production at The Arts HUB this week, and was thrilled to have been placed in one of the main roles. She's so excited to be in that production this year, and it's a really great group of kids with a fantastic group of leaders from the Arts HUB!
Did you go to Jurassic World at the Ball Arena this weekend? I was surprised at how much I liked the show! The sets were great and I'm pretty sure the whole cast were stunt actors because there was some really cool action and fights.
We also stopped by the new Living Spaces, a new mega furniture store in the old Sears Grand space up by Costco. It's huge and has a fantastic kids play area!
Over the weekend we went to Dim Sum at a place off Alameda. It's always fun to go with a bigger group so we can try all of our favorite items, so it was fun to have my parents with us.
On Tuesday night we had our 4H Boots and Buckles celebration at The Giggling Life Care Farm. The kids all had a fantastic year, and some of our club members went to state and had really successful showings. Everyone is looking forward to the next year and has so many ideas for new projects. After the celebration we went out for sushi at Yonsei, and it was delicious. It's our third visit, and it's consistently been the best sushi we've ever had. Please stop in and give them a try, we need them to stick around! They're located in the strip mall near 136th and Colorado, and have a happy hour every day!
What are we up to next week?
We're going to ditch all of our fall activities and spend the week up at the Tetons! We've lived here for ten years and haven't taken the time to head up there, and it's so close! We're looking forward to exploring the park and taking it easy for the week. It's going to be a little cool up there, so we'll get to enjoy a little bit of fall too.
Events are a little quiet this time of year as the older kids get back into their school routines, but the calendar will start to pick up fast here soon! Fall festivals and Halloween events will soon be upon us, and we'll have them all here on our calendar for easy planning! We're already at work researching and collecting all of the events, so let's start looking forward to that!
