It's 1899 New York City, where newspapers are delivered daily by troupes of plucky young boys, including the charismatic Jack Kelly, who dreams of one day escaping poverty and making it big in Santa Fe. But when the newspaper bosses decide to raise their prices, at the expense of their delivery boys, Jack's dreams - and the dreams of every newsie - are suddenly out of reach.
Determined to fight for a better life, the newsies band together and go on strike, bringing the newspaper industry to its knees.
Based on a true story, this uplifting Disney musical inspires us all to fight for what's right and to stand up for what we believe in.
This show is performed by an adult theatre troupe, The Arts HUB Players. It is approximately 2.5 hours long, including an intermission, and is rated PG.
