I know you know the building, it's enormous with a beautiful rotunda, and it has a history!
After going through several ownership changes, the building has finally found the perfect match. The new owners, who were not involved in any of the previous versions of the business, have introduced a unique program to our community and renovated the building beautifully to support their program.
The owner, Anna, is a local mom and is supported by her team of sisters who run successful Karter Schools in Virginia. They have brought their track record of success and excellent vision to Thornton.

Care Offered
Karter School of Thornton offers a variety of services, including:
- Early Childhood Education: Karter School provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. They have infant, toddler, and preschool programs, along with a Private Elementary Program for Kindergarten and 1st grade.
- Universal Prekindergarten (UPK): Karter School of Thornton has been approved for UPK and has several spots available! The UPK program offers all Colorado children 4 years old on or before October 1, 2023 15 hours of UPK programming per week during the school year.
- Afterschool & School Break Program: Karter Schools provide year-round programs for school-age children— including afterschool clubs, fun field trips for teacher work days, and weeklong camps for winter and spring breaks.
- Summer Camps: Karter Schools grows along with kids, delivering just the right mix of challenge and fun from kindergarten through 6th grade in their summer camps.

Hands-on Spaces
Karter offers beautiful spaces for children to learn through doing. A science room, bowling alley, gym, stocked art room, instructional kitchen, theater, and garden offers hands-on experiences during their day.
Meals Included
Four kid-friendly meals are included in tuition every day at Karter School of Thornton. The food is prepared onsite, and it's not just heat and serve. An onsite chef provides meals throughout the day from a full kitchen - with an oven. The chef will also work with students in the instructional kitchen during the day. The kids even make and bake cookies together on Fridays!
Specialized Immersize Programs
The school educators have a bachelor's or master's degree in the subject they are teaching, and they are full-time Karter Schools instructors. Programs include:

After reading all of this, you might assume the pricing is ridiculously high. However, the team at Karter School of Thornton has done their homework and offers competitive tuition for their program. Their program is all-inclusive, with food provided and no add-ons for early or late pickup. Don't rule them out if you think it's too expensive! They also accept Child Care Aware and CCAP.
