Hello Macaronians!
I can't believe it's only September 12th. Does anyone else feel like this month should be over by now?
Mercury Retrograde officially ends today (the post shadow period, if you're following it), and I couldn't be more thrilled. Hopefully, communication and technology will be nicer to me as we make that transition - it has been a doozy of a couple of weeks!
What were we up to this week?
- My book club met this week to discuss Apples Never Fall. We had a wonderful conversation, as usual! I thought it was a really well-crafted story and enjoyed reading it, but there was some disagreement in the group—I was surprised! I tried watching the mini-series, but it diverged too much from the book, so I finally threw in the towel after two episodes.
- We saw Beetlejuice Beetlejuice this weekend, and it was SO GOOD. They did a fantastic job honoring the previous story and weaving in lots of Easter eggs. I loved that the cast came back (except the couple in the attic). It was really fun to see them all together again.
- Our Boots & Buckles 4-H Club (at the Giggling Life) celebrated the fantastic year our club had this week. The kids learned so much, and it was fun to see how well they bonded together over the year. It has been a fantastic experience for our family!
- We had our visit with Dr. Courtney at Kindred Family Chiropractic, and it's always a relief when that's on the calendar. I've had horrible back pain lately that mysteriously disappeared this week, so this is the first adjustment that I've walked out feeling all put together!
What are we up to next week?
- Can you believe it's time for Halloween events? My husband and daughter are attending the 13th Floor media night this week (I want nothing to do with that place - I wouldn't sleep for weeks!) They LOVED it last year and are so excited to go back again this year.
- My husband and son are attending a Rockies vs. Cubs game this weekend. We're Chicagoans and Cubs fans, so it's nice to see them when they come to town. I keep an eye out for the cheap tickets earlier in the year so it's not too much of an investment to get them there for a game.
- Then we're off to Mexico for some relaxation by the ocean. I'm really looking forward to a break with all four of us. Summer was fun but brutal schedule-wise, and we all need a break. It's our first time taking my daughter out of school for a significant chunk of time, so we'll see how that goes. But I think traveling the world is an essential part of growing up! I look forward to sharing my experience with you when we return!
That's it for me this week. Have a great week with your kiddos!
Peace, love, and macaroni,
Susan
