Hello Macaronians!
The snow has come and gone, and we're back to some beautiful late-fall days! I can't believe Thanksgiving is approaching so quickly. Soon, it will be festive season, and I can't believe it!
What were we up to this week?
This week, we visited Brittany at Joyful Breathing for a helpful pre-tongue tie-release visit. We're both a little nervous but also curious about how much our bodies and mouths will change afterward!
I took both kids to Skate City last weekend. My daughter decided she didn't want to use inline skates anymore, so we rented skates, and she had a great time!
Early this week, we spent a lot of time with 4-H activities. First, they had their officer meeting, and then on Tuesday, we had the club meeting. We held our officer elections, and the kids are so excited to be President and Recreation Leader for the club. It's going to be a great year!
My son had his last robotics team practice before this weekend's big competition. They finally have the robot done, but it doesn't sound like they've driven it on the course much. I think they'll do an emergency gathering on Friday to get some driving in before Saturday!
What are we up to next week?
All the events seem to have gathered on the calendar for this weekend, and it will be a lot of good stuff, especially since we had a couple of quiet weekends.
My son has his robotics competition all day on Saturday. It's a long day, but it's so fun to see the teams on the course with their robots!
My daughter and I will see Beauty and the Beast at Riverdale Ridge High School. She'll be a student there next year, and she's curious about the theater program, so we're excited to see one of their performances. Plus, it's always a great show with fun music!
We're doing 4-H Club Officer training this weekend to plan out the year. The kids also need to learn parliamentary procedure, which was tricky last year. So we're looking forward to getting them up to speed on how to run a meeting properly.
And then I have my Supper Club! Our theme of Sweden will be very interesting this month. One of our members just returned from Sweden, and she put together a beautiful menu for us to enjoy. I'm not very familiar with all the flavors, but I'm so excited to explore them.
Monday is the big day for our tongue tie releases. My son and I are having the procedure done on the same day and will be snuggled up watching movies together for the rest of the day. Brittany at Joyful Breathing told us it should be quick and easy with just a tiny bit of soreness, so hopefully, we're both typical patients and have an easy recovery.
Later this week, my son and I will head to Scottsdale to start our Thanksgiving break. My husband and daughter will join us later for all the festivities. With the cooler weather, I'm really looking forward to relaxing by the pool in the sun for a few days with a good book!
That's it for me this week. Have a great week with your kiddos!
Peace, love, and macaroni,
Susan
