Publisher's Note - January 23rd - Hanging out at Children's

January 24, 2025

Hello Macaronians! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I’m so glad that blast of arctic cold is behind us! Bring on the warmer days. ๐Ÿฅถโ˜€๏ธ

Here’s a little peek into what my week looked like—maybe it’ll spark some ideas for your family adventures!

What We’ve Been Up To This Week

๐Ÿ† Year-End Awards:
I had my travel agency’s year-end gathering and was thrilled to rank in the Top 10 in several categories! It’s such a joy to help clients plan their dream vacations.

๐ŸŒฎ Lunch & Margaritas:
On Friday, I met up with my Dot sisters at Tequilas in Thornton. Nothing beats a fun, casual lunch with great company (and a margarita or two!).

๐Ÿบ Date Night Escape:
While my son was at basketball practice, my husband and I snuck away to Bruz Beers for a quick treat. Their Dame Blanche is my absolute favorite white beer in the U.S. – highly recommend it!

๐Ÿค– Robotics Competition:
Saturday was all about a robotics meet in Longmont. Despite braving icy roads, the day was a bit frustrating for the team, as they had controller issues that made competing tough. Fingers crossed for some wins at their next event in a few weeks!

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Supper Club Fun:
I hosted my monthly supper club on Sunday with nine friends! Our theme was “comparison,” so we made viral TikTok recipes and tried:

  • Two salads ๐Ÿฅ—
  • Two tacos ๐ŸŒฎ
  • Two desserts ๐Ÿฐ
We even had a fun TikTok-inspired cocktail. It was such a great evening!

๐Ÿค’ Tough Start to the Week:
Unfortunately, my son caught a nasty virus on Monday. I’m writing this from urgent care at 3 a.m. while he gets breathing treatments. (Asthma and viruses aren’t a fun combo!) I'm hoping he recovers quickly—we’ve been through a lot, but he’s such a trooper. [And now I'm proofreading this from the emergency room again! Apparently, he has both covid and flu-a, even though the poor boy was vaccinated! I guess that's why he's had such a tough go this week.]

What’s Coming Up Next Week

๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ‘ง Plans on Pause:
With my son recovering, our plans are up in the air. He’ll likely miss his basketball game this weekend. We’ll see how the week unfolds.

โ˜• High Tea Event:
I’m organizing our Dot Social this weekend and hoping I’m healthy enough to attend! We’re planning a fun high tea with some connection activities.

๐ŸŒฑ Dining Adventures:
I joined a new women’s dining group and can’t wait to try Wildflower next week. Their “plant-forward” menu draws inspiration from the West and local traditions—sounds amazing!

๐Ÿ“š Books & Chat:
Next week also includes a casual gathering with my Dot friends who love books. It’s not a book club, just a group of book lovers sharing recommendations and laughs.

Wishing you all a fantastic week filled with memory-making moments with your kiddos!

Peace, love, and macaroni, ๐Ÿ’•
