Fall is the time for local festivals, and we've rounded them all up for you here! Below you'll find a list of our favorite family-friendly finds in the north Denver metro area plus a few extra that are definitely worth the drive. Events are listed in order of start date.

Miners Day
September 20 | 5 - 7pm 
September 21 | 8:00am - 9:30pm
Where: Downtown Frederick, Centennial Park, & Crist Park | Frederick
Cost: FREE!
What: Miner's Day offers a small-town feel in celebration of our community’s mining heritage and provides a rich and lively environment for residents, businesses, schools, and community groups from throughout the region to come together for a day of fun. The event includes a dynamic parade, a burro race, vendors, food trucks, kids activities, contests, and live music throughout the day. Per tradition, Miners Day concludes with a spectacular fireworks display!


Northglenn Pirate Fest
September 20 | 6 - 10 pm
September 21 | 11:00am - 6:00pm
Where: Northglenn Recreation Center and E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park | Northglenn
Cost: Admission is FREE!
What: Pirate Fest will include food and booth vendors plus all of the yummy pirate drinks (rum, mead, and beer), a pirate ship, crafts and vendors, activities including bounce houses, a historical reenactment section, sword fighting, and archery demonstrations, and more. The cardboard regatta is CANCELED this year due to algae blooms in Webster Lake.


Denver Oktoberfest
September 20-22
September 27-29
Where: Larimer Street between 21st and the Ballpark District | Denver
Cost: Ticket pricing varies by attraction; see website for more info.
What: Denver's Oktoberfest commemorates the world-famous and time-honored tradition of German heritage over two weekends each fall. Enjoy German attractions, including music from national touring groups, performances by international dancers, children's activities, heritage booths selling German goods, an accordion concert, the annual Long Dog Derby, costume contest, and authentic German drinks and cuisine. 


Broomfield Days
September 21 | All day! Beginning at 7:00am
Where: Midway Park | Broomfield
Cost: Admission is FREE!
What: Broomfield Days Community Festival is packed with activities including a golf tournament, Bingo tournament, community parade, live entertainment, car show, trade fair, a craft festival, food booths, duck races, Big Air competition, and so much more!


Anderson Farms Fall Festival
September 25 - November 2 | Hours vary throughout the season
Where: Anderson Farms | Erie
Cost: $17 – $309 Free for Children 3 & Under
What: Home of Colorado’s longest-running corn maze & pumpkin patch, Anderson Farms is home to fall fun for all ages! Daytime entertainment includes pedal karts, farm animals, and educational activities. For after-dark frights, guests can visit Terror in the Corn.


Oktobeerfest

September 27 | 5:00pm - 9:00pm 
September 28 | 11:00am - 8:00pm
Where: Lutheran Church of Hope | Broomfield
Cost: All of the proceeds from Oktobeerfest benefit LCHope ministries and communities such as The Refuge, North Denver Cares Food Pantry, Almost Home, Inc, and others.
What: Join us for our annual fall festival, complete with local brews, brats and burgers, traditional polka music, and more! 


Denver American Indian Festival
September 28-29 | 10:00am - 6:00pm
Where: Lakewood United Methodist Church | Lakewood
Cost: FREE!
What: Since 2014 the Denver American Indian Festival has brought a celebration of American Indian culture, arts, and history to all Denver Metro communities. It has welcomed over 20,000 residents and over 81 tribal representatives.


Elitch Gardens' Fright Fest
September 28 - November 3 | Hours vary by day
Where: Elitch Gardens | Denver
Cost:  $49.99 for all-day admission
What: Elitch Gardens transforms into family by day and fright by night, plus all your favorite theme park rides.


12th Harvest Festival
October 5 |  9:00am-2:00pm
Where: Barr Lake State Park | Brighton
Cost: FREE Admission! $10 per vehicle for Park entrance or $4 per individual
What: This festival is an annual fundraiser to benefit the Friends of Barr Lake State Park. Families can enjoy wagon rides, face painting, kids' crafts, a live raptor presentation, a petting zoo, games, food trucks, a pumpkin and corn stalk market, and vendor booths.


Thornton Harvest Fest
October 5 | 10:00am - 5:00pm
Where: Community Park | Thornton
Cost: Admission is FREE!
What: Family fun abounds at this annual Thornton event. Visitors can browse the Harvest Fest marketplace, shop low-cost produce fair, participate in the skate park competition, dine at the food court, visit with vendors in the First Responder Row, purchase Autumn trees, watch Hugo's Lucha Libre, play in the Kidz Zone, and much, much more!


Lakewood Cider Days
October 5 | 10:00am - 5:00pm
Where: Heritage Lakewood | Lakewood
Cost: Tickets range from $8-$15 (infants under 1 are free)
What: Celebrating Lakewood’s agricultural heritage with an entertaining mix of live performances, activities, and tasty harvest treats, the annual Cider Days festival offers fun and excitement for the entire family! This event includes tractor pulls and vintage power displays, children's activities, historic demonstrations, and a unique variety of exhibitors and vendors. The Cider Days festival wouldn’t be complete without everything apple, including apple pressing, cider, and a variety of apple goodies.


Ecotober Fest
October 5 | 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Where: Louisville Community Park | Louisville
Cost: FREE!
What: Go eco-friendly at this year's regional sustainability event that features 60+ eco-exhibitors, a sustainable makers market, an EV and e-bike showcase, free electronic recycling, a Halloween costume exchange, food trucks, and many other family-friendly activities.


Denver Botanic Gardens Pumpkin Festival
October 11-13 | 9:00am - 4:00pm
Where: Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms | Littleton
Cost: $12-$18. Free admission for children 2 and younger
What: Celebrate fall with this treasured October tradition for the entire family. Enjoy a day of fall activities at Chatfield Farms. The ticket price includes access to the pumpkin patch, corn maze, and children's activities.


Arvada Pumpkin Festival
October 12 | 10:00am - 2:00pm
Where: Arvada Community Garden | Arvada
Cost: FREE!
What: The event will include kids' gifts and games, fall items for purchase (cornstalks, pumpkins, gourds, plants, mini pumpkins), Giant Pumpkin and Giant Squash contests, free seeds if you answer gardening questions, light refreshments, garden tours and more!


Brighton Harvest Fest
October 26 | 10:00am - 3:00pm
Where: Historic Downtown Brighton | Brighton
Cost: FREE!
What: Put on your best costumes and show them off while you take advantage of all the fun the day has to offer. Shop at the street fair from participating vendors, munch on delicious food and treats, participate in pumpkin bowling, enjoy dance performances and so much more.
