Hello Macaronians!
It's been another quiet week of recovery around our household. My husband continues to get better everyday and we're so grateful that he's quickly getting back to his normal life. ❤️🩹 We've been taking him out for daily walks and he's even been out on a solo trip to Starbucks and the grocery store! (You can't keep him away from Starbucks for too long!) I think he's starting to lose his mind sitting around the house, but it does him good to get out and about, so we're glad to see it happening.
✈️🪂👨✈️ We took a family outing to see the new Top Gun: Maverick movie, and it was so good! I rolled my eyes every time my husband said he wanted to see it, but I was surprised at how much I loved it. The story is really good, and overall I thought it was a lot better than the first one! We took the kids too and they both enjoyed it. Although my daughter was very confused about "that guy whose dad died" and "that Ice guy" - I thought she had seen the original but realized she didn't watch it with us a few weeks ago, oops! The new story revolves around the previous movie, so it would be helpful to know some of that storyline before taking the kids with you.
⛱️😎 My big news is that I'm heading to Mexico next week with a big group of Macaroni Kid publishers! I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go after the accident, but my husband is recovering so well and is pretty insistent that I go, so I'm going! We'll be staying at Nickelodeon Riviera Maya for three nights and I am so thrilled to get to see this new resort that I've heard amazing things about. It's an all-suite hotel with a huge water park, and all suites have an ocean view! Several of our publishers were able to visit when it was under construction, so it will be really fun for them to see the finished product. 🎂🥳 My birthday is on Friday, and it sounds like my husband has several fun surprises in store. I've been told not to plan anything at all for Saturday, and I can't wait to find out what he's got up his sleeve!
