The Recovery Process ๐ฉน
After having our tongue ties revised in January, our healing journey took longer than expected (hello, endless winter illnesses! ๐คง). Despite the setbacks, we kept up with our stretches, and I'm happy to report that at our last check-up, Brittany confirmed we're heading in the right direction!
What We're Working On Now ๐ช
We've officially moved into the strengthening phase! This includes:
- Daily tongue strengthening and stretching exercises
- And surprisingly... swallowing exercises!
That last one caught me off guard, but apparently, it's a crucial final step in the process. I'll be honest—these exercises feel challenging right now, but we're committed!
Looking Ahead ๐๏ธ
We'll be heading back for another appointment in 4-6 weeks. The goal? Developing strong tongues that naturally rest on the roof of the mouth, which should help improve our breathing patterns. I can't wait to see what improvements we make!

Brittany owns Northglenn-based Joyful Breathing, a Myofunctional-based practice specializing in Breathing Education, where she sees clients of all ages.
Clients come to Brittany from around the Denver metro area because they want to pursue better breathing and oral behaviors, and she helps with issues like finger/thumb sucking, TMJ issues, anxiety, asthma, sleep apnea, tongue-tie care, and orthodontic treatment/relapse.
